There’s something so special about a small, backyard wedding. When Summer reached out to me and explained she was looking for someone to photograph a very small wedding ceremony, I was thrilled!

She and her husband, Michael, were so laid back and easy to work with. They had planned a very small ceremony in the nature area right outside their home. Michael even commented that he loved the location because they could look out the windows at home and see where it all began.

One of the things I absolutely loved about this ceremony was the location. When preparing for engagement photo sessions, one of the biggest questions I get inevitably is where should we hold the photo session? My response is always the same. Choose a place that means something to you and your spouse. THAT is exactly what these two lovebirds did for the ceremony.

The ceremony itself may have been small with just a handful of people in attendance, but the emotion from the personal vows was amazing. Beautiful. It spoke into the relationship these two have built together and the strength of their love for each other.
