Any of you who follow me on social media will know by know that I am a musician at heart. It’s no secret that I studied music in college, but my love of music started a very young age.

I played the piano for years even competing in solo competitions and playing at church on Sundays. I’m also a trained vocalist. I think I was 8 years old when I started singing in church services in the small town I grew up in.

Knowing all of that, it shouldn’t surprise you that in junior and senior high school I was in the marching band. I tried auxiliary (flags) for a year and moved on to drum major pretty quickly. Concert band, jazz band, pep band… yep, yep, and yep!

Then there was concert choir and show choir. Show choir was one of my all time favorites.

Sofia reached out to me about a post she saw on my Instagram account looking for student musicians, and we clicked immediately! This girl reminds me so much of the girl I was in high school. Naturally, we connected over our love of music and performing and she rocked her creative session! We threw in some funky fashion stuff too because, well, why not!
